The disadvantage of ignorance in the beginning, turned into a huge advantage, as uninfluenced I was led through the literature … to the estates marrying theory and practice, in my own cultural way, passing – something I will never stop doing – infinite hours on my estates. This led me to create high quality products with my own cultural identity and insight, with my own brand name.
acres of privately owned land
olive trees
acres of wine vines
Ktima Tzorva consists of 200 acres of privately owned land which are in continuous cultivation. In our areas we cultivate 5,000 olive trees divided into olive oil production olives (koroneikes) and table olives (reeds), along with 40 acres of wine vines, with varieties of red (merlot, syrah, agiorgitiko, mandilarias) as well as white (kyordes). We already combine Greek with international varieties.
It is divided into four different arable areas with the common feature of the planting orientation, which is northeast so that we take full advantage of the sun throughout the day, around the plants, but also the contact with the sea breeze. Our olive trees and vineyards are located either on the sea or very close to it and thus benefit in many ways. Especially during the summer, when the high temperature of the day gives way to the low temperature of the night, our plantations get the coolness and breath they need, from the sea and its unique elements.
Specifically mild winter, helps trees and shrubs not to be shaken by frost, as the temperature rarely drops below 0 degrees Celsius. Moreover, ideal temperatures in spring 20-25 degrees Celsius ensure perfect flowering and after fruiting. Although the summer is hot and dry, the fact that our trees and stems are irrigated, allows us to intervene with the right amounts of water per root, leaving them at the “stress limits“, because this is how the best product is proven to be created.
